All of you dissappoint me. I shouldn’t have to lecture and explain this at least once I week. I shouldn’t have to grit my teeth in anger, or clench my fists.

I should honestly have tore everyone a new asshole for thinking they can hurl racial epithets freely around me, DESPITE THE FACT THAT I WOULD NEVER FREELY USE ANY DEROGATORY WORDS toward you. I can recall one time when I was told NOT TO BE OFFENDED. FUCK YOU.

I don’t care where you come from, and if “it’s ok there”, or if you and your black friend say it “all the time, but not in a ‘derogatory’ way”…or even if “you don’t mean it like it that” and it’s not like you’re actually saying “NIGGER WITH A HARD ‘R’”..you clearly have no empathy, understanding, or knowledge of the pain that word induces. Either that or you’re too caught up in cracking a joke, or “expressing yourself” to care.

Counting the days til’ I can get the fuck out of Palatka.

The fact that people here have the audacity to say it openly, and in my presence without fear of offense, and then when I call them out on it, don’t say sorry, shocks me. The farther up North in Florida I go, the more I’m reminded how little has truly changed.
